Problem is pretty simple really, when I connect one of my two 300GB MaxTor drives to my PC, Windows won't load. I simply get a black screen. The boot priorities are set correctly. The jumpers (they're IDE drives) are also set properly. I get no errors of any kind, and the other one (which is identical) works fine. Safe mode doesn't help.

Also, it does it on the machine downstairs which is running XP, so I don't believe it to be a fault with Vista (unless it's one that carried over from XP). Same result - no errors, just a black screen.

Anyone got any ideas?

Nevermind, one of the machines booted with it after about 20 minutes of sitting there doing nothing.

The only reason I wanted to connect it was to get data off of it; so how long the drive lasts really doesn't matter. Nothing important, it would just a pain to rip it all again.
