Ok, I recently downloaded an XP skin from this website http://www.wincustomize.com/index.aspx?u=0 But I don't know what to do with all the files I downloaded. Sorry if this is a stupid question, but how do I apply these customized skins to my desktop?

There are style programs like StyleXP that can be used to apply themes to windows. Either that or you'll need to use the file I attached and move the skin files to a seperate directory in C:\Windows\Resources\Themes\ (or whereever your windows folder is located)

Please note though, I'd give StyleXP a shot BEFORE PatchXP.

Style XP may be found here: http://www.tgtsoft.com/download.php

Ok, I was apparently trying to download THESE http://www.wincustomize.com/ViewSkin.aspx?SkinID=3409&LibID=31 files apparently NOT themes. So how do I apply these custom desktops to my computer?

DesktopX themes are single files that when applied by DesktopX can totally change the way your Windows desktop looks and feels. You can use these to create entirely new desktop environments. They're easy to use and can be turned off with a couple of clicks if you don't like one.

There you have it. http://www.stardock.com/products/desktopx/

Every library on that site is for a different style program. Google will help you find the programs you need.

You can also get a object dock to put all your shortcuts in.

He could be trying to use a windows blinds file. I myself use a mac theme as you can see in my sig. Go to this link to download the free version of Windowblinds. It is part of the Desktop X program. The only problem I have with the free version is a pop-up window whenever my computer boots up.
