hi, i have a few questions about wht i should do with my new pc 4 its internet connection. i already have a wireless b router (it sucks n im getting a new one sumtime) and i deffinately dont get 11 mbps although theyre like a room away frm eachother. but im not sure if the signal will reach downstairs where my new pc's going. will i have a better experience with this pc if i just wire it, or should i buy a range extendor which 2 me seems a little pricey.

Just wire it. You can get a the full 11mbps. Wireless will work but it will go as slow as hell.

Wire it... Wireless is new, and unfinished.

I've heard Wireless is about to undergo a radical overhaul, and the old technology will be almost a joke by comparison, although not obsolete.

I had a wireless network that I used to connect a computer across the house to a network. I wan't happy with performance, and I couldn't get a signal sometimes... so I spent about $100 buying range extenders, new cards, and antenna's for my PC and in the end I ended up just wiring the damn thing.

I have never had luck with wireless, ever. Even the simplest of networks seem to give me trouble. Id go wired in all the way unless you absolutely can't

Monster_userI've heard Wireless is about to undergo a radical overhaul, and the old technology will be almost a joke by comparison, although not obsolete.

Would that be a reference to the 802.11n protocol? Some folks are touting Bluetooth as a viable wireless alternative; I'm not so sure that that will pan out as such. My personal recommendation is to go wired. No lost links, better security, and faster transfer speeds overall.
