My dad has a crappy 2.6 cel, 256mb, 32mb intergrated graphics. It has a spare APG slot. If i put in a nvidia tnt2 m64 16mb graphics card would it aid it at all? Would it combine with the 32mb intergrated graphics and work together? Would the 32mb graphics do nothing if i put this card in? Would i be able to play games a bit better? Thanks:cya:
No. Adding an AGP card will disable the onboard video. And based solely on memory size, it sounds like you'd be better off to leave it alone.
yeah, if i was you though morgster id buy a radeon 9200 or a geforce fx5200 at minimum, even though they are lowend cards it would aid it a lot and there not expensive at all
Buy a Radeon 9200.I bought one and it ran great. It ran games such as LOTR Battle for Middle earth,Dawn of War,And Star Wars KOTOR1.I recommend you to get a Sapphire card.
Take into account guys, that a motherboard that uses a Celeron processor won't have had gaming as its top priority. It may not even have an AGPx8 slot, perhaps a 4x or 2x.
Even if it has 2x slot a radeon 9200 would be ok.
2x will be fine and 4x will have extra bandwidth for data:D I had a 4x AGp card adn it was fine. The 9000 is a great card for direct x8.1 games. If not you can go with the geforce 4's There both cheap, around $30. If not then a 9200 or evern an Fx5200
Might I recommend a TNT2 32mb as the minimum. Its a nice card. I was able to play BF1942, and Halo with it. Halo ran at about 48 - 60 FPS, with all textures disabled.
A Geforce 3, or Geforce 4 would also be a good inexpensive AGP card. I still use the Geforce 4 Mx440 64mb for gaming on my old Pentium III AGP 2x.
i was goin to get a 9600 for about £40 on ebay, but i just found this one, thanks for your help.
what was it found? and wouldnt all agp graphics cards except the top-range ones work with AGP2x?
