how often is :every now and then", this pretty common, my modem will do this about once a month. it may be overheating, or if its rented it may just be gettiing old.

Holy crap *sighs and shakes head*. OK man, first, Go to Start:Run; Type dxdiag and press enter. Press the "Save all information..." button, Wait as it gathers system information. Leave the settings as is, the location should be "Desktop" and it should be called "DxDiag". Press save, Open the file, Go (In the program you just opened the text with): Edit>Select all (Or press Ctrl+A) Then press Ctrl+C, then select the text box of your post and press Ctrl+V. And (If known) Post Your internet service provider, your router model number (Located on the router somewhere) And what your connection is (DSL? Cable?). Then someone might help you.
