I was wondering. Will this card play BF2 at high settings at like 1280X___ and stuff? i am putting one in a build and see that even though the card is only SM 2.0B it still has better image quality and good frames than the other cards in the price range. I would love answers on how well the following games will be played on:Amd Athlon 3200+,1gb of ram and so on HL2 BF2 Fear Quake 4 BF vietnam and BF 1942. I know there are alot of benchmarks on this but i would like to know first hand from people who actually use the cards other than testing. Thanks a million guys, this info will not be wasted!!
Not to be a 'bully', but please post questions like that here,
That is why that thread was started.
The answer to your question.
BF1942, BF Vietnam, HL2 on the system will run flawlessly.
BF2, F.E.A.R, Quake 4, being alot more resource intensive (especially BF2 with the CPU). You should be able to run them on medium settings without dramas.
Oh, i havent really looked at that sticky
My Radeon X800GTO uses the X850 chipset, and I can run BFV, BF2 and HL2 maxed out with no problem. Later games such as Oblivion, AoE3 and Tomb Raider Legend - all of which utilise SM 3.0 and HDR still run pretty well sans all the fancy lighting and shader effects, since the X800 series doesn't support them.
I've got an ASUS X850xt, and it preform beautifully with HL2 and BF2 on full (near full for BF2 aa at 4x). BFV and BF42 will run with no problem on full. I've also got the Athlon 3500+, so it might be a little different from you, but the card is still a beauty in games and in person. Good luck on your build :)
Oh awesome. as long as i can play BF2 HL2 and all the other games i will be alright.
I am soon to be getting a X800GTO2 Special Edition. Everywhere I have asked said its perfect for games, as long as you have the system to back it up.
As for the AMD 3200..I would spend the extra money and get a minimum of a 3500+ for games.
I guess i can splurge on one.
No, a 3200+ should be sufficient.
yeah i looked on benchmarks and a 3200+ will be alright for awhile. Thanks Rob
