Hey all, I need some help here...well, I need drivers for a Triplex Xabre 400 Pro that will run newer games. The card is plenty powerful to support newer games, but will not run direct x 9 games due to lack of driver support...I don't understand why it would not be capable, it is faster than the Geforce 4 MX series.

Mate, I couldn't run games on full settings with a GeForce 4 MX 4 years ago. If you're judging it against that then it doesn't have plenty of anything, let alone processing power. It's not even much faster than an MX440, so it has no chance. If it doesn't support DX9, then it doesn't support DX9. Cards that old, as a rule, will only support DX8.1. A driver update isn't going to change that.

SiS made the original chip, so they're probably the best place to look.

you don't understand, the game cannot play many games that a geforce mx 4 can play with ease... Jedi Academy Call of Duty Battle Front etc... I need drivers that would allow it to support those games...

I know dude, I have tried those. I was wondering about community drivers or something. Like the Omega drivers (but they don't offer SiS)

the card is out dated. battle Front needs a newer card. CoD and Jedi academy should work. but anything since 2003 will run like crap/notall on that card and it is a agp 2x 4x.

Yeah the card you have is definently outdated, looks like it's time for another upgrade. An indication of that is that none of its official drivers support Direct X 9 which basically tells you right there that it isn't a gaming card. If you do find drivers that have support for DiriectX 9 it still isn't going to be giving you good framrates.

NOTE: It is going into an old pile I tossed together for a friend.... 700MHz Slot 1 P3 384MB PC133 ya...I don't think it matters, it is that or a Geforce 2 MX with 32mb ram...

It is an Xabre 400 PRO with 128MB RAM

Nobody is going to bother with the effort of making custom drivers for such an obscure piece of kit (junk?).
