Just thought this was interesting. XFX is now selling a version of the 7800GTX overclocked out of the box to 490MHz core, 1300MHz memory (up from 430/1200). It also comes bundled with Battlefeild 2, and has the XFX logo on the cooler, instead of the standard design that comes on some of the other ones. BFG has always been the only way to go if you wanted a factory overclocked, top of the line card. Now XFX is overclocking their cards beyond BFG (BFG's version is clocked at 460/1300), and BFG doesnt include BF2. With XFX soon offering some sort of trade-up program, this may be enough to give eVGA and BFG some trouble. GO XFX!! It's on newegg here if you want to check it out.

Wow, that's not a bad price! I wonder if it'd be $50 less if Battlefield 2 wasn't included...

Only on eBay. XFX probably only pays EA $5 for each copy of BF2 they include.

Sounds like a great deal, and its good that XFX have finally stepped up to BFG.

I wish I could only pay 5 bucks.eekx.gif

Wait, how can you trade your card up with BFG? I got a 6800gt and may be moving to a PCI-e mobo this christmas, getting a 7800gtx would be awsome.

1) eVGA also has an overclocked 7800GTX 2) BFG never was the only, nor were they the first manufacturer to sell factory-overclocked video cards. The last generation was something of an anomaly that way, with almost nothing coming factory overclocked. Either way, the 7800GTX is going to account for so little overall this this really won't matter one way or another in the long run, other than to--perhaps--gain XFX some goodwill.

eVGA's version is only overclocked to 450/1200. Thats barely beyond the stock speeds of 430/1200, and doesn't even touch XFX's speed of 490/1300. I didnt say they were the only, or the first, way to go for factory overclocked cards. I was reffering to the last few years, and I said top of the line card (implying the 6800 series). Who els sells factory overclocked 6800 series cards?

if you buy a card thats already OCed will you have a warranty? Because OCing voids warranty so will you just get a warranty from the company that sells it and not have a nvidia warranty?
