Ok, just wondered... Does anyone use XP Media Center Edition? Do you actually need a Media Center PC to use it or can ya just have any reasonably good computer with a TV Card and enough disk space? Is it ok for running games and other stuff? Just wondering whether to get Home or Media Center... I could always reformat and change I suppose... I just wondered other people's opinions...
If your using a comp. with a descent processor, and good sound and video cards, just use an ATI TV Wonder Pro. I think that XP Media is a bit pointless.:uhm: http://www.ati.com/products/tvwonderpro/index.html
your missing the point Livin4metal, A media center comes with a Card such as that. XP media center edition is rather useless unless you have a Media center type configurated PC.
Ok, thanks for ur help both of ya... So is ATI TV Wonder Pro good? Can you record programs or movies etc at good quality? I'm asking this because I used to have a TV Tuner program which actually turned out to be crap and you couldnt even capture more than about 20 seconds at low quality!

All i said is that if he's running a descent peecee, he can pick up ATI's TV card for $40, and he'd be set. And about the software, i do not know. I would think yes, but I do not have one yet. Maybe someone who does can give your answer.
I take what n0e says way too seriously

Media centre has jaggies in the video, though....
@livn4metal Do I need an ATI TV Card or can I use any? @Peeping Tom jaggies? :uhm:
you can use any, but ATI does seem to produce the most reliable TV cards. Nvidia TV cards are hard to find.
Actually, it doesn't matter what you have, because you can't buy XP media center edition. You can only get it if it comes factory with a computer, meaning that it only comes on premade computers such as from dell, gateway, or HP for example.
