For a while already my Windows XP refuses to start any programs after I connect to the internet. Anyone know what could cause this?
Everything works normally until I connect to internet, then only those programs that are already working continue to work while everything else won't load up. There isn't even an error-message. It's probably another process that stopped working, but I can't determine which as the task-manager doesn't work either in those cases.

I can't think of anything that'd cause that...
Tried running virus and other scans?
I think I figured it out. Looks as if the auto-updates of my virus-scanner crashes and stops everything else from working.

What anti virus are you using?
AntiVir Personal, but the problem occured again today even with its auto-updater disabled.
Usually all programs I tried to open start working after about 15 minutes, all at the same time. Maybe it's connected to windows-auto-update.
