As christmas is coming i have finally decided to upgrade my computer a little. My current specs are in my sig. I was going to add an agp 6800 128mb (link is here, looks like it can be unlocked/overclocked to a GT), another 512mb ddr400 (link is here). I was wondering what kind of fps could i get on bf2 now? before i was getting 40fps 3 texture medium, lighting high, geomitry high and 2xAA. Everything else mega minimum. And what about COD2? I want to buy it. What about windows performance? I was also going to get a raptor 1400dpi mouse and raptor mousemat, and a audigy £30 sound card. Thanks, morgan.

6800's+BF2=bad

The 6800's are sweet in all other games except BF2. I would go for an x800xt, x850xt or x800xl insted. ATi rapes BF2 in the FPS department.

Ram: more will always help everything Raptor mouse: 1400dpi says it all. I think my 800dpi Mx510 is sweet. Sound card: worth the money over intrigrated. I have an SB live 5.1 card, I got it for about $35. You don't need to be an audiophile to notice the differnce in sound quality.

The card is quite good, and it is fairly cheap (probably because of the 128mb). An extra stick of ram will benifit noticably, especially with your loading times.

All in all, the card looks ok. You will notice quite a significant increase from your old 9550. I can't really comment on fps, but i get 120 average maxed out on BF2 with my 7800GTX (rest of specs in sig). You will get playable frame rates on mostley high settings for sure.

Yeah i remember that now, you have to turn fastwrites off or something. Owwww, i really cant afford much over £100 for graphics though. ati x800gt? Yeah, i was either going to get the SB live, or the bit more audigy. Anyone know about raptor mice? ill google it now. Thanks pathegreat and yellow hamster

morgsterati x800gt?

It is similar to 6600gt. ATI did not have something that could challenge it at the price point.

The 6600gt is still superior to it though. The 6600gt has SM3.0 support and performs excellent for its price at around $130.

Didnt everyone who had a problem with there 6800 fix it, it was just that fastwrites thing, and quite a few people never had a problem in the first place. I dont want a 6600gt as the 6800 beats it. I have been looking at the 3dm03 scores, he he.

nvidia rigged there drivers to give a higher md mark 03 score a while back. I would not base the performace just on 3d mark 03. I'd say look up some reviews and do your research on the product. Just buying something because it is cheap is not reccomened. Cheap cards usually have lower quality componets, lesser warrents lengths, and poorer heatsinks/fans.

You might want to wait for that new Logitech mouse that is going to have 2400 dpi. I think its gonna be like $100 but it's worth it. Also, I have an MSI 6600 GT AGP with 128 mb GDDR3, with 1 gig of ram, a 3 Ghz P4, and I can't run BF2 for CRAP, so I recommend you avoid the 6600 GT for BF2.

lol, i cant afford that, i do like that G5 one though, looks mega. The reviews look real good for that card. I never new that about nvidia and 3dm03. So my options are the 6800 or 6600gt.#

Pathegreat, just looked on asus website HERE , It has a 3 year warranty and the fan looks pretty decent.

Well, the 6800 has more pipelines, which are good. The 6600 GT does everything else very well, I can play HL2 max res without a bit of lag, and all my other games run equally well.
