Well, overclocking is widely done, but I would highly go against doing so. Overclocking makes things screw up a lot. I overclocked my 6600 GT through the overclocker they included, and used the D.0.T. (Dynamic Overclocking Technology) which shuts it off if it gets too hot, and cranked it up full level, and after 30 minutes of BF2, the computer rebooted. Even at the half level, it still did the same, and hardly any performance increase. I the tried the manual adjustment, and changed the stock settings of 300 MHz for my 2D Clock, 500 MHz for my 3D Clock, and the 900 MHz for my Memory clock, and bumped them up to 500 MHz for my 2D Clock, 600 MHz for my 3D Clock, and 1100 MHz for my Memory clock, and it froze up shortly afterwards and presented a lot of trouble to get reset. The max settings for all of those on the overclocker in the same order are as follows: 600 Mhz, 700 MHz, and 1300 MHz. If I tried the maxes, heh, I wouldn't have a graphics card anymore. At any rate, I suggest getting a better card, such as the 6800 Ultra or X850 XT PE. They're a bit more but are very much so worth it.

Well, newegg is not in Euros, but I converted the price of the X850 XT PE, which I believe is the better card to get, and its £ 300. Here's the link. The 6800 Ultra I found at ZipZoomFly was £ 316. The link is here. Are you using AGP or PCI Express?

Look up the 6800GS. It is apparantly a GREAT buget card. It has said to perform equal to the 6800GT and OC much higher than it, and it is a buget card to.

Unfortunatly, they are a fair bit more pricy than your budget. They go up to $220. So thats a problem. If you really have to, sacrifice Ram, or Mouse for now and get a decent card.

Edit - Just relised you are in UK. You can probably pick up a 6800GS for around £120. Happy Hunting. :)

I have an xfx 6800. I unlocked the card & it runs BF2 great. I get 60-70 fps evrything on high but textures & dynamic lighting(both on med.) & AA on 2x. I have know idea what problem people are talking about. I have fastwrites on. I run the 81.95 drivers. I have the res. set at 1024x768 & it screams. By the way, there is no differnce in the way 70 fps look & 120 fps look in game. The human eye cant process 120 fps second anyway. It does more like 40-50.
