Count_Chocu1a. I have know idea what problem people are talking about. I have fastwrites on. I run the 81.95 drivers. I have the res. set at 1024x768 & it screams. By the way, there is no differnce in the way 70 fps look & 120 fps look in game.[/quote] http://www.gamingforums.com/showthread.php?t=206116&highlight=6800gt

It could be an issue with video card bios. But I am not the only one expirencing this.

The human eye cant process 120 fps second anyway. It does more like 40-50.

I have begun to notice a difference. The hiuman eye is said to see at about 12 frames per second, but people, like fighter piolets can see alot faster. I need 60fps with v synch.

You say they can see 200+ fps? what are they, robots? I refuse to beleive that. That would make normal movements look slo mo. Maybe if their names were Steve Austin & they were bionic & they were 6 million $$  men......

I would not recommend sacrificing the ram in favour of the graphics card, you will notice it if you do. Besides high-quality value 512MB DDR400 costs about 40€, and the difference will be huge especially in RAM-demanding games as BF2. I happen to have 2048MB, and that's pretty much enough.

I have nothing to complain about my X700Pro 256MB in BF2 (generally a little worse than a 6600GT), it runs more than great, the difference to a 9550SE is huge, but the RAM and faster HD, sound card and processor helps too. Do whatever you want to, but a sound card, especially e.g. an Audigy2 will do much difference in sound quality, and helps keeping up the FPS a little too, and please don't do something stupid by getting an expensive graphics card in a computer with only 512MB RAM, unless you plan to add more really soon.

I have no troubles at all with my 6800GT with Battlefield 2. When I played it I had 0 trouble. Had every thing turned on Max but no AA and had a res of 1280X1024 and I got 60-70 FPS too. I had 0 trouble with it. Just stoped playing cause the game is boring and its nothinh like its brother battlefield 1942. They killed the Battlefield series with 2. I would go for the 6800 any day than a 6600gt. 6600gt wont play Battlefield 2 that good. Don't kill your ram for a graphics card. Get ram and a new video card. More ram is always good. Battlefield 2 needs 512MB of ram and right now your running it on bare. Going to 1GB would help out a lot. You will see a increase in performance going to 1GB of ram and a 6800.

although a 6800gt would give you much better performance, i run a 6600gt 128mb pci-e and play bf2 with no issues. also a 6600gt agp card is not recommended for bf2, but pci-e is.

yea, just wanted to make it clear in case someone else was reading who has pci-e. i would always like something faster in mine, but alas, there is precious few dinero for non-life sustaining items. (or is it life sustaining?)
