Need any help figuring stuff out kevinski, just ask me... Don't know much about ET though, but I'd assume that it's almost the same... Also, AntiFlag, how's the site comming along?
I probably won't try developing any maps for the mod until its release. Things like jump distance and height play a huge role in the enjoyment people get from maps, so I'll wait until I've played the mod a bit. I'm assuming jumping will be far less useful in your mod, eh? Seeing as how you're going for realism. :P
Oh well…at least the original RtCW maps can be played without worries in regard to jumps. In my opinion, mp_beach would still be great with more realistic jumps.
As for RtCW and ET mapping, I believe the main difference is in how objectives are scripted. For instance, I've heard that dynamite objectives are a bit more complicated in ET. I haven't tried scripting objectives yet. I'm still getting a feel for the various functions within GtkRadiant. It's so hard to use something like that after you've used 3ds max. *sigh*
The increased gravity is a good thing on MP_Beach. The Germans can't jump the wall in so many places anymore.
I was mainly talking about patches and terrain, mainly stuff with brushes in Radiant.. And getting textures to align right.. As always, I'm here if ya need something.. -sub
Gah...I thought I hit reply...
Anyway, subterfuge: Once I get a night where I'm not busy, it'll get done. All I need is a single day to actually get myself to finish it.
kevinski: The e-mail thing isn't that hard in phpBB, it's just the host I was using didn't like e-mail systems...When they sent me my original password, they did it snail mail style...France to Illinois in only...3 weeks...
Did you not mean "Escargot - mail"?
LOL, looks like you heard about l'Académie française banning "email" from government documents, favoring "courriel."
I don't know if I missed this, but what is the projected release date for the mod?
We're still working on that CrazyMonkey. As soon as we can.
Are you actually adjusting the jump height itself, or are you just altering the gravity? Honestly, you should try to avoid changing the gravity, because - if I'm not mistaken - that would alter the grenades and such, too. Please, if at all possible, don't mess with the gravity.
That wouldnt change the grenades at all...
