Single blade, it seems a lost easier to use. Besides that it seems it would take more or less skill to use, because you would need to be faster to compensate for the lack of two kill edges.
Double bladed is more harded to master but is much more powerful.
Double bladed is mine because of the cool stunts, I just wish you could have two colored blades
Red RebelI had an idea once, which KotOR II stole from me. Grr.. Anyway... I made up a Dark Jedi character who used the Force to control multiple lightsabers at once (the original thought was ten, but that may be a bit too much). He also had two lightsabers he would use with his hands if he needed... I'd have two sabers, but generally use just one. Some say that a double-bladed lightsaber is better, takes more skill blah blah.. It only needs more skill because it's so restricting. There are many things you can't do with a staff. Get two sticks and a friend (a normal broom works for the "single", and the handle of the huge push brooms work for the staff). You use one stick as a staff, the friend uses the other stick lick normal. Fight with them for a bit (not hurting yourselves obviously :p ) and you'll see what I mean.
Unfortunately the Jedi can use the force to flip in the air, circling around and spinning the dual blade around them the whole time. Butterfly-ing, and all the what not. And we can't :uhm: Besides, it is possible to fight with a staff. Ever watched chinese martial arts? It just takes longer to master
Dual Single Hilts are just so cool. Two sabers... Just so cool, cool moves... Everything on dual sabers are just so cool.
but if you are lacking in your left or right hand, 1 sabre would have less power. So double Bladed would definitly overpower dual sabres
Single hilt: Simple and deadly
My friend said something like Count Dooku used only one hand when lightsabre dueling... anyone can confirm that?
Personally I would go for the single blade. It is the original type and all of the best characters only have one blade. (Mace, Yoda, Obi-wan etc). Also there is just something that seems great about having a single blade (Probably just me but hey)
Well, Star Wars did start with Jedis having only one sabre.....
