hello the post says it all: here's the early beta of my new beach map which should probably have more success that fun_beach http://marksr.free.fr/dual_beach.pk3 All testers, critics, bug reportings, points of view, and ideas of improvements are very very welcome :) Thanks in advance to anyone who'll help me test it. I can even run a server sometime this week end

hmmm the mail things I'm looking for in this map are texturing bugs (already found 1 a few minutes ago... lol) and ideas to make the map better :)

I did a quick run around on the map. Looks great. I did see a couple of things.

While I was in the "blue" vent, I could jump and see into the other rooms. I believe that one of the rooms was one of the Allies objectives. I tried to make a demo but the glitch didn't show up in it.

The other is where a sidewalk meets the grass. You can see between them into what is below. I have included a demo of this. Please ignore the motd and the banner.

I found 2 texture errors, dunno if one of them is the same as the one you found but here is some images of where they are.

Note: Because there is no target_positions in the map its hard to give an exact location of where they are so i took an extra image that should help lead the way to the error.

Go through the door where the crosshair is facing and it will lead you to the next screenshot.

Surley that wall should be right up against the wall to the left? Thought it was strange i couldnt fit throuh the gap and could see round the back of it? Maybe a texture error maybe not? ______________________________________________________________________

That metal bar looks weird? Why is it there? I would delete it.

As you can see a texture problem on this side of the bar. ______________________________________________________________________

Those are alls I spotted for now, only had a quick run around the map, ended up getting lost pretty quick lol. Map is huge, maybe to big, who knows? I got real bad fps on my system making it unplayable online, started at 1 then dropped to 0 fps at spawn point for allies.

Once I got inside the bunkers and made my way underground my fps shot up a bit :) Map looks nice, i will have a propper look at it A.S.A.P.

hehe thanks a lot for the testing guys :) OK here's the news:

-I found the place where a texture is missing on the side that wimpy meshioned (cement floor after depot) and fixed that -The metal bar in the middle of a table was a compile error ??? I opened the SDK and the bar wasn't there LOL... So I compiled again and it's gone hahahah -I corrected the bug where a wall isn't fully stretched beside the Axis power generator room that Hotshot talked about... sily me hadn't seen it....

I'm not adding target_location stuff so it is easy for you to say where the problem was :)

Thanks again for all the testing guys.... I'll have a newt version ready shortly :) I'm still looking for the glitch in the blue vent though.... I'll go and have another run in the map... Wimpy, could you just give me more precision on which vent it is? Is it the long cement vent light by blue light with 2 pipes inside it or one of the dark metal vents with little square yellow lights where you have to break a grid to get inside?

As for your FPS Hotshot... OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!! That's realy bad news... I'll try to pull out a few models in order to make the map lighter for medium config computers... I'll remove a couple of MG42 guns and stuff like that... Hope it will help :(

yeah sorry 'bout FPS... I'm just used to my Athlon XP 1800 with a Gforce 4 now... LOL Therefore when my FPS stay at 125 all the time, I can't tell if it's laggy for others

hmmm already found bugs myself lol - a door I added has a completely crappy texture - the MG42 in the Axis basement is too high or the wall above it is too low lol
