Someone asked if it was possible to have grenades hanging from the 3rd person models webbing. I can't remember which thread it was in.

At the time, I said it wouldn't be possible because I'd need to edit the player models. Well, Last night, while looking for something else, I had a brainwave and now I've found an easy way to do it.

The backpacks are separate, unanimated, models to the main body models. This means that they are easy to edit, and as they are on the player's back, all I needed to do was add the grenades sufficiently far forward that they are on the front.

I've only done it for the Allies soldier at the moment.

Do we want to keep this? Do we want it for the other classes, too?

WRT the Axis models, though, tucking them into the belt may not look too good as the model animates.

Yup, I thought that too, and I can resize them. They're actually copied from the 3rd person grenade model. Maybe that one needs resizing too.

Whoa, awesome! Yeah I'd make them a bit smaller too. Is there a way to rotate them so the handle clips are towards the chest?

I'd do that for LTs also.

About the German nades, maybe you could hang some by the handle from the belt. This is gonna sound corny, but I mean like in StarWars how they hung lightsabers from thier belts. I dunno if that's realistic though.

Ok, reduced size (80%), adjusted position, and rotation. Also added to the LT.

I'll see what I can do with the Germans, but AFAIK, they didn't tend to carry grenades like this.

EDIT: I tried to do it for the axis side, and it doesn't look right. Because of the way I've attached the grenades, they are too far from the pivot point when the body moves, and don't move at all naturally.

I think we should forget it for the Axis players.

If have probelms writing the weapon.cfg let me know sonuk... I think I got it figured out, or at least the point that it would work.. They also need to match the weapon animation timing and sounds so that the look right.. Also, I've just about wraped everything up, I'll have it on the server tonight, or tomorrow morning sometime.. Later Sub

Well actually I was the one that wanted to see the Grenades hanging from the top belts etc.Was watching an episode and that caught my attention. LT.Spears carried 2 and the other soldiers in Easy had one on their Left side, and some had 2. So perhaps let's add grenades to the soldier and Lt. classes only?
