Here are some pictures for my current project, Helm's Deep.

I've been working on this map for several months now, but I still have a long ways to go (you'll notice a lot of placeholder geometry and temporary textures). I'll probably be done in a few months (hopefully before ROTK comes out... on DVD... :)).

What do you guys think? Any comments, constructive criticisms, or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Also, does anyone know where the entrance to the Armory is? How many entrances to the Glittering Caves are there? Where are they?

Thanks, -Rammage

Well, I took a look at the JK2 Helm's Deep map and I must say I'm impressed overall. However, it's not particularly accurate to the movie. It also makes a lot more sense if a map like this were made for Wolfenstein (objective-based) as opposed to a JK2 Free For All. Perhaps he'll convert it to a Siege level when JK: Jedi Academy comes out.

I'm assuming you meant the side door that Aragorn and Gimli use to attack the Uruks on the causeway. That door is definitely part of the plan! :)

My main goal is to make this map as accurate to the movie as possible, at the cost of gameplay if necessary. However, this should hardly be a concern as there is tons of gameplay built-in to what we saw in the movie! The Axis will play the part of the Orcs, and the Allies will be the Rohirrim/Elves. There are two possible entrances: blowing up the Deeping Wall, or smashing open the Main Gates. Blowing up the Wall leads to the campgrounds, a perfect place for a respawn flag. Blowing the Horn will cause a massive mortar strike from the slope where Gandalf arrives in the movie. There are many possibilities!

I'm also thinking about making this a ET map, but I'll have to get the geometry finished before I think about that... They also have to release the SDK for it.
