I have extracted a skin (female one) in to the main folder in wolfenstein and it did not work for me so I must be doing something wrong. When the first one didn`t work I removed it to avoid conflict and tried another. That did not work either so I removed it until I had tried all of them still no joy ! Is it really as simple as just extracting it to the main folder or is there something else I should be doing? My game works fine It`s a genuine bought game works fine in multiplayer I updated to v 1.33 even though I only bought it last week!! Can any body explain how to do it in MORON language as it seems I must be one !!
I have read a lot of forums and there are very intelligent peeps out there can one of you please help me?
Not related but where can I go to find out about etiquette? As a beginner in multiplayer am I supposed to be a medic or soldier or what please?
Are you trying to put the skin over a brush? Also, you can't just put the skin in your main directory, you have to put a folder in the main directory called skins or textures or something. I can't remember which, but after you do that you put the skin file in that folder. As far as etiquette goes, you should just know the basic rules: don't kill teammates, work together with your teammates and for god's sake if your an lt don't be stingy with the ammo, same for meds. You need to play the maps for awhile and figure out when and where you need to be an lt, med, engie, etc, etc. Talk to your teammates and ask them they'll usually tell you what to be and perhaps even form a simple strat for you.
p.s. if you are just trying to put a skin in the main folder to play it during gameplay you should be able to just put the file in the main folder. If it's in pk3 format don't unzip it. If you unzip it it probably won't load in the game

I thought you could only see a different skin if the sever you where on was running that skin.
i.e if the server is running the Elite Gaurds skin and you have the .pk3 in your main folder then it would show up on screen. But if you go on a server running a skin pack and you don't have it then you would see normal allies/axis skins.
or is it if the server allows different skins then it will use the .pk3 in your main folder. So you could end up with 20 person server and everyone has a different skin .pk3 in there main folder so everyone see's the skin .pk3 that they have installed.
yeah i think that is only on unpure server's
