I only saw Episode I, thought it was crap compared to the original episodes, and decided not to waste my time and money watching the next two. So maybe the next two were ok, but the Episode I lacks the entertainment value of the originals. The special effects were better though, so if that's what you judge movies by then ok.

I have to agree. There's really only two things which hold people to the old trilogy. A) They grew up on it. b)Han Solo

If the original trilogy didn't have him, then the prequels would have been better. But while they do offer some improvements over the original trilogy, they lack the main thing what made the origs so great.

And well a lot of people forget that ep1 was targeted at the same age group as ep4. People went who used to grow up on sw went to it and were disappointed - hell I was in this group as well. But looking back, it wasn't any worse than ep4 and as a kid I would have been totally enamoured with the podrace and the queen that seemed to actually be capable of doing something as opposed to miss royally annoying.

Admiral Antilles;5216965You have to remeber also, that they were made in different Generations. With Different tech too.

This right here. Visually, episodes 1-3 are better because they are newer and have better special effects. But when Star Wars 1st came out it's special effects were fucking god compared to other movies. My parents like 4-6 better simply because when they saw them it the effects were awesome, now we see 1-3 and we're like zomg so much better.

The space battle at the beginning of Episode III was worth a watch. Spaceships broadsiding each other is awesome and made the film acceptable to me. The other two are trash.

I agree...episode 3 was a vast improvement and possibly my favourite out of them all... however episodes 1 and 2 have poor actors and even worse dialogue I find.

I grew up watching the 1-3 and I enjoy the originals far better. Episode III and I was by far better than the second. Episode II had the cheesiest acting and a realy bad storyline. I think the best are 4-6, even though they dont have all the jawdropping effects.

Thats why they were made first....as the original triology has a better storyline they needed to kick start the 'franchise'. I too grew up watching episodes 1-3 and yes I agree with you....the originals are better. The biggest let down, in my opinion. of episodes1-3 is Anakin- his acting is appaling and Padme's is not much better.....only McGregor bring it back.

I totaly agree, I think the only good acting in I-II was McGregor and Dooku (whatever his name is).
