hi i want to know what is your website that shows what your doin with the mod and being americans can realley piss you off after a while so can you think about including british skins and sounds, also can we have the proper sniper rifles (allies :springfield not grand) and (axis:k98 not k43 different guns)
PLEASE THINK ABOUT THIS AND WRITE BACK email@example.com :D
I dont see us including a British skin/ sound set. I'm not quite sure how that would even work without removing the US soldiers (And it is a US Paratrooper Mod).
I personally prefer the Scoped Garand over the springfield. It may not be as realistic, but it is a change from the other WWII games out now. I dont see us redoing the German rifles either.
The website is http://bob.rtcwfiles.com. Sorry to disappoint you...
Bob, looks like he's an ET player. Paul, the default Axis sniper rifle in RTCW is the Mauser K98K and we have no intention of changing that. The K43 is used for balance in ET because its a magazine-loaded semi-automatic similar to the Garand or M1carbine.
We already covered the Springfield/Garand issue in another thread. BTW, technically the Garand IS a Springfield. It was originally designed and manufactured by Springfield Armoury.
Besides, if we did make it British, the Allies sniper rifle would be a Lee-Enfield No.4 MK1*(T), not a Springfield or Garand.
Bolt-action rifles are a PITA to model. Trust me, I made the Lee-Enfield No.4 for The Great Crusade (see below).
There was a mod working on puttting in British Commandos, called "The Great Crusade". I modelled some of the weapons for it, but that mod's as good as dead now. It's demise was mainly due to the diificulty in changing the player models. This is something that is best avoided, hence the efforts I put in trying to change the Axis model enough to get the "Enemy at the gates" look without actually editing the model.
But, to summarise, as Bob said, the basis of this mod is the Band of Brothers mini-series about Easy Company of the 506th PIR of the US 101st Airborne Division. If you haven't seen it, next time it's on check it out. There are 10 parts, though. I don't know if you can rent the DVDs. It's made in a similar style to "Saving Private Ryan", but don't believe the "Americans winning the war on their own again" rubbish about it. It's about a company of American paras, so it would have little else in it.
thanks for that, but it seems a little wierd with the sniper recoiling that much when prone and it should take off a lot more health if you want it to be realistic.try to include new things on the guys faces because the et canada mod with the camo on the covert ops face was realley good take a look at it
also include the portable mg42 and portable browning 30 caliber for the soldiers so it will be much more realistic
Paul, Modeling, coding and animating a slew of weapons is much easier said than done. Can you do any of the following to help the mod along?
"also include the portable mg42 and portable browning 30 caliber for the soldiers so it will be much more realistic"
If your answer is no? then you see why the mod isn't getting all the "Bells and whistles" Yea we'd love to add this,do that, make British skins,Canadian skins,Italian rifles, multiple German SMGs,add in classes like spies, dictators, general ..the list goes on and on and on. There's no way to add all the "I want this" to a mod..as before we have posted we need help on the forums..but only a handful of people from this entire RtCW community have stepped up to bat..oh sorry using yet another "American" slang. In other words if all the people standing in a crowd are yelling We want more. And in reality are just sitting on their as*es and don't help well you get the picture
I did post this earlier, but it seems to have been lost in the server crash we've had.
I've bitched about the wimp-factor of the ET rifles on the Splash Damage boards.
This mod is for RTCW, not ET. I don't know about the others, but I'm glad I didn't have to pay to be dissappointed by ET. It could have been so much better, but they just changed too much in search of "balance".
The RTCW player models don't have the prone position in their animation sequences. Adding them, or any other changes, is very difficult due to the player models' MDS format. Unless, that is, you have a few thousand quid to spend on getting the proper tools (legally). I don't, so we're gonna make do with what we have.
Lol, the Garand feels like a d*mned toy in ET.
And uh, let's avoid anything that we know has given past mods trouble ;).
