Hi

ok I've been workin on my map for a while and now I'm at the finishing stages, so damage points etc are all being placed,

but ! I have a prob - here goes

in the beach map - a player plants dyno - and gets points, then when the dyno blows - he gets more points

where can I find that bit of script ? for points later - or how do I assign points to a player after a specific objective has been completed ?

Well J.G.,

So using the beach map as your guide, you notice that the "trigger_objective_info" is an integral part of making the func_explosive work correctly. There's one of them at the sea wall breach and also another at the sea wall door. Select, (highlight), either of them, (they have the common "trigger" texture on them), and look at the entity information for either.

There are various "Keys", (such as target, track, classname, etc.), and each of these "keys", has an accompaning "value", (the part that comes AFTER each key). The key that you put in to get points is called "score", and you will notice on beach that the "score" key has a value of "10", (for both explosive objectives).

When you set up your trigger_objective_info for each func_explosive, you give the "score" key a "value" of however many points you think should be awarded to the engineer. (You will see the concept of "key/value" used a lot in the mapping community.)

As you mentioned, the game engine awards some points for merely getting the dyno "set". (Same goes for defusing dyno).

Finally,:) I did it

I was looking for a way to award points for holding a switch open, which would be awarded to the "holder" after the objective was destroyed, - but that didnt work so well, but I have managed to award points for destruction other than by dyno so I'm happy now
