my best guess would be to copy the beach .map file, then rename it. Make your changes to the terrain with easygen and save it as your new map name, then export you new terrain into the a third map. Go into the third map select the terain and save it as a prefab. Next go into your copy and delete the terrain. Finally load you new prefab terrain into your copied map. This should work. I have changed the textureing in some of my maps doing this when I couldn't decide if I wanted snow or grass or whatever.

try going into your scripts folder and check and see if there is a file with the same name as your map .script. If not you'll need to figure out where easygen put it.

easygen lets me name the script so i named it Test and it puts it in the scripts folder but still nothing

maybe i should try naming the shader to the same name as my map??

any more info KANE

ok the shader is in the scripts folder-- i tried making one to match my map name too but nothing---- all i get is that Black and Grey grid on all of my terrain which to me i assume means its not reading the shader--

i have mp_test.shader in the scripts folder and i also added that name to the shaderlist.txt

my PCx file is in the main dir and it find it and does heights ok

everything is great but it dont read that darned shader

i also notice that in all the other shaders they point to TGA files instead mine points to Jpegs--- that might be the problem and in a few mins i am gonna convert my textures to TGA and try that one

any more advice Please KANE

was it your shader file for the custom textures. I didn't realize you weren't using stock RTCW textures.

no i was using stock RTCW textures--- but i found a tutorial for Custom textures and in its area where it explains how to do shaders i realized that the directory structure was wrong on the Shaderfile it wasnt pointing to the right folders and then i had it set wrong in the map itself lol

it was just a pest thanks

let me know if u figure out that door thing KANE
