Hi Im running GDK Radiant 1.2.9 on win2000 and im having a few prblems loading some of the games textures into my level. When loading the textures I get random messages saying "shader cannot be found" or something, but everything seems fine, but when I load the level in Wolf I get the default crosshatch texture as if it is missing. The same goes for when I load one of wolf's models into my map, it seems that it cannot find the textures for that also. Does anyine have any idea whats going wrong? Its not on all textures just certain ones. Could it be that I have installed it wrong?I put GtK Radiant in the main Wolf Directory....
This has been asked alot of times on all the forums. There are two games made by two different software teams. The sp and mp part of wolf (Grey Matter) and nerve... There are sp and mp pk3's the game reads to get the information in including the textures and shaders. (shaders are different than a normal texture.) So you can use the textures in GTKRadiant but if you run a sp texture in a MP game then it won't show up at times. the military doors is an example of this.
NOTE: 2 using textures from custom made maps will also not show up. So make sure you have use shaderlist.txt only checked in the texture options in GTKRadiant.
NOTE: 3 custom maps made by end users. If your going to map you need to remove all the custom pk3's from your main folder or some of them will cause textures not to work. This is caused by stupid mappers modifying the original texture folder or original shader. Never do this yourself, but make your own shader with a different name than the original.
NOTE: 4 Keep your mapping tools updated if your really serious about mapping. Were up to GTKRadiant 1.2.10 Loss of textures or models can result in not keeping updated.
GTKRadiant sits in its own folder in the programs folder. A radiant folder is created in the wolfenstein directory, not the main folder.
