I think the British accent just has a sinister sound to it when it's done right. It's very suited for villainous roles.

They just wouldn't sound the same with a Swedish accent, God knows people would be rolling if they sounded French.

I imagine that in those respective countries the films are dubbed into those languages... go for a holiday there, watch a SW film, laugh 'til you wet yourself... expensive but funny.

Nah, his culture is American. His father was of British and Swiss heritage. His mother may have been of German descent, but that doesn't make him a part of German culture.

You're American right?

USA Catholic is different to an Italian Catholic - same religion, different culture. Religion is a part of culture, but culture is not religion.

I don't see why Yoda would have a German accent just because GL is, he doesn't even really sound German to me anyways.
