This is sure to bring the Revanites running:lol: (Revanites: Slightly catchier and easier way of saying Revan Fanboys.) Please vote, and after doing so, post what you think on Revan. Good, bad, indifferent, so long as you express your honest opinions.

An interesting character, but not the be all and end all of Star Wars. He was a great Jedi, but not "teh gratest evva" (by the way, I love option 2, and is that last one a Doctor Who reference?). Anyway...he is definitely overrated, for two reasons. 1. He was a video game PC, and 2. (see #1). But that doesn't mean that he wasn't great. His achievements (while inflated by video gamers) were amazing, and his fall to the dark side is a hell of a lot more interesting than Anakin Skywalker's or Jacen Solo's.

Bizzarely enough it wasn't, but from this point on it damn well is!!!:bows: For myself though, I'd have to say he's an interesting character, but not truly great.

Nah, Vader fanboys would be Vaderites. No "n" in Vader afterall. So what if it's lame? It still had people voting on it, so it wasn't as lame as you make out.

I don't thing Revan is overrated at all. His intention was NOT to completely fall to the dark side, so that rules out option 1. He was still a very powerful force user though. He may just be a made up character, but look at the facts and the evidence. He was the greatest padawan of his time when he was a child, he left the order to fight wars, he fought and defeated the Mandalorians in the Mandalorian Wars (a foe that has not been beaten since the Great Sith War), killed Mandalore the Ultimate, persuaded nearly a half of the Republic's officers to betray their cause, Went to war with the Republic and almost defeated them before Malak betrayed him, and even then, when his empire was at his height, he ended it himself after defeating Malak and being redeemed. He left to find the True Sith and most likely survived. (Hopefully. :naughty:) Overrated? I don't think so. Revan is badass, but that's not why he's so great. He is great because of his skills as a combatant, tactician, politician, and a negotiator.

Tarvos;4099348His story is interesting, but he's frickin' overrated as hell. People say that he could defeat Yoda, or even DE Sidious. That's just absurd.

His ability to defeat Yoda might have to be put to the test. I think Yoda might win that one. But Sidious? Stop joking. The only way Sidious would beat Revan is if they were playing a game of "The older person wins." Revan would even win that one anyway, since he died about 4000 years before Sidious was even born.

Yoda is intelligent, wise, and powerful. Everything that Revan was. Sidious was only powerful. He was stupid, unwise, unintelligent, and close minded. He wouldn't have lost the Galactic Civil War if he did what Revan did and converted the Jedi instead of wiping them all out.

I am a mod and I did merge them =p.

But I think that he didn't know how to insert quote tags manually, copy/paste, etc., so he had to double post. It is a little tricky to stick a quote in a post after you posted it.

When Tarvos said DE Sidious, he was referring to Sidious post RoTJ, during the Dark Empire series. At this point, it is found out that the Emperor had many, many clones of himself, and in Dark Empire he "moves into" a younger body of himself, thus putting physical limitations of his age out of the window. Sidious wasn't stupid, nor was he unwise, and was far from unintelligent. He had been able to mastermind a war that would cause his rise to power, and the fall of the Republic. His plans allowed him to corrupt and turn one of the great Jedi Masters of his time and to do exactly the same to the Chosen One, and ultimately destroy the Jedi Order..... again. Sidious bore no interest in converting Jedi. He had received all of his training as a Sith, from his master Darth Plagueis. By converting Jedi, it would have lead to a much highly increased risk of betrayals and attempts at a coup to replace him as Emperor. This was one of the reasons that Bane instituted the Rule of Two, not just because of secrecy, but to also ensure survival. Sidious, like all Sith, was only interested in power, in dominion over all. Revan's intentions before he fell to the Dark Side, were to ensure the safety and future of the Republic, but he was seduced by the Dark Side of the Force, and chose the path of tyranny. Two completely different characters, both powerful in the Force, and with a Lightsaber.
