We all know that the rebellion send bonthan spies or who ever stole the plans of the Death Star. But what would happend if it never got stolen. Would the empire win and destroy alot of planets? I thinks so

OR The Rebels would be smart enough to find a way to destroy it, via spies, probes or what not, and they would just destroy the Death Star again.

If you've read shadows of the empire, it'd probably make a little bit more sense. The Emperor wanted the rebels to have the plans so he could bring them to the death star as a group where the Imperial Fleet and ground forces would kill them off. He even told Luke it was a trap in ROTJ, that and Ackbar's famous line.

The only thing that went wrong was that the Ewok's helped Han and the rebels, allowing them to get the shields down. If that hadn't have happened, the rebel fleet would have been destroyed, and Han and the rebels most likely would have been killed. However, Vader still might have owned the emperor.

even if the bothans didn't stole them, there would have been surely some imperial officers who'd turn on the empire and give them to them ... either way, the problem the empire always would have had is that the rebellion are nomads and that by the time they had found them all, they surely would have destroyed a massive number of planets - and not much left to rule

As matty said in Shadows of the Empire, the Empire had devised a plan with the help of the Black Sun's Prince Xizor to let the plans 'fall' into the hand of the rebels. It was not intended for things to go as well for the dirty rebel scum as it did. If the Death Star hadn't been totally obliterated there probably would've been some other way for them to win. Remember folks: Even though the Rebels are, by definition, terrorists, George Lucas decided they were going to be the winners.
