For me, I'd have to say Shadows of the Empire, which (of course) is the soundtrack you are all least likely to be familiar with, since Shadows of the Empire is a book and not a film, but for some reason there's a full-length soundtrack for it.
Out of the 7, it's the only one not composed by John Williams, and that is what makes it so impressive, because it sounds like it could have been. Joel McNeely, the composer, did an excellent job of mimicking John Williams style, but at the same time adding in some of his own. Not only that, but all the best parts of the original Star Wars music is mixed in with the new compositions, so it's like the best of both worlds!
If anyone is interesting in hearing some samples, if you've never been graced by the album, let me know and I have some short 10-second clips on MSN I can share
By the way, it has a song in it that's better than Duel of the Fates, and in the same style as Duel of the Fates, but it totally wipes Duel of the Fates out! :giggle:
I like them all, though i will now how to DL the SOTE soundtrack :P but if i had to pick one I guess it would be EP1 soundtrack. Though the hardest tract to get is the Emporor's theme not the one from ROTJ, which is still great, but the darker ones from the prequels, on the extras disk for EP3 its has it in one of the sub menus but I cant find the whole thing... it isnt even on the soundtrack :uhm: frustrating.... anyway nevermind!
Difficult choice, because I like parts from every soundtrack. Either Empire Strikes Back (because it has several versions of the Imperial March, Yoda's theme and a nice ending) or A New Hope (because it has Binary sunset, Cantina Band, Throneroom and endtitles). I'll vote for Empire because I don't really like some parts of the New Hope soundtrack.
No contest...Emprie Strikes Back actually made Star WArs what is today
"Duel of the Fates" is the best in my opinion :) It gives a very nice atmosfear while watching the lightsaber-fight in Episode 1, plus it's nice to hear it too when you're not watching the movie.
The Imperial Marche is very, very good too.

I don't know this one :(

Agreed, however seeing as SotE takes place right after ESB, the soundtrack has all the best parts of the ESB soundtrack already in it (the Imperial March, that song that plays when Han's being put in carbonite, etc).
I uploaded a sample of the last track on the album, "The Destruction of Xizor's Palace". It's only a little over a minute long, and the entire song is almost 11 minutes, so it's just a small peek. Personally I think this song may have been the inspiration for the vocals in Duel of the Fates. Maybe not, though.
Although they're aren't real movies..I must nominate Clone Wars for its very orignal although spin off music style from the Two movies proceeding it.
Empire Strikes Back, definitly the best, unless KotOR music was a choice too, although KotOR soundtracks does not feel a lot like Star Wars, it is really nice anyway. That short track is really good, I wish I could hear the entire SotE soundtrack =p
Anyone remember the Tie-Fighter soundtrack? I wish they'd do an orchestrated version of it. Here are two midi-files to give you an idea what it's like: http://forums.filefront.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=33877&d=1117195856
General Grevious is my persnol favorite, I've never heard of Shadows of the empire soundtrack. But it's a great book.
