im sure this has been here somewhere but i just had a long discussion with a friend who for some reason believes the covenant would win... i want to know your opinion.
I think you better post this in the entertainment section instead of star wars section only..
No, I think the thread suits the section it is in, thank you very much.
Can't answer until you clarfiy if you mean the Covenant from Halo.
Srry dude, no reason to start a tone against me, just trying to helpful. In the old times when you weren't around, vs debates where normally put in the entertainment section.
The battle can go two sides..
If the Covenant from Halo Reach are taken then they lose. If the Covenant from the halo games from Master Chief are taken, star wars lose this.
Star Wars expanded universes say that the weapons power output is around gigaton strength.. The covenant in halo reach were been taken down by kiloton explosions and weaponry(they lose) but the covenant in halo 1,2,3 were able to withstand mac rounds and they have a weapon output in teraton yielding..
I think Vader would strangle master chief's a** from across the field.
um Death Stars? KABOOM? and I'm sure the empire would win. an entire galaxy's worth of ships vs... IDK I don't play HALO i've a wii
Depends for me.
The covenant are mysterious is the problem, we have no idea of the size of their empire, if there even is an empire although we know it to be HUGE.
The covenant ships are slightly bigger than the standard imperial star destroyer and as stated before their weapons are much more powerful however:
The Empire has the death star and other MUCH larger ships like the Executor which have very powerful weaponry, not only that but multiple weaponry. Also the Empire has fighters. The covenant have space abled banshees and those other things, nothing that will match up to a swarm of fighters, plus bombers which the covenant seem to lack that would decimate capital ships.
The Empires star destroyers would most likely be destroyed fairly easily however their fighters and larger more capable ships would fair even, if not better in my eyes.
On ground I will have to vote for the empire too. The covenant may have extremely large numbers but so does the empire. The covenant were taken down by basic ballistic weapons. The Empire has much more capable weaponry and vehicles. Whats a phantom against an AT-AT? Yes the scarabs are near invincible but if the master chief can take one down from the inside Vader or Sidious would have no trouble. One force crush or force storm would decimate it.
I'd have to agree with most of that, but... I disagree with the Star Destroyer part. ISD's are designed as a triangle to put as many weapons as possible on target without exposing too much of itself. I think the ISD's would put out a lot of firepower at once. But, as said earlier, I don't play HALO, so I wouldn't know what the Covenant's match for an ISD looks like. But broadside against an ISD coming at you head-on? That's a bad idea. Now, I'm not a massive expert on Star Wars. In fact, I know little. So the ISD might not have sufficient weaponry to take on the Covenant's match. But keep in mind, the Empire was taken down by a small, petty Rebellion. :Panic:

The Covenant has Seraphs, which are fighters. They have very powerful weapons on them and have shields. TIEs wouldn't stand a chance unless in large swarms.
Seraphs are taken down by human fighters.
In Halo Reach you take them down in a sabre. Yes it is a very nice space ship and yes Spartans piloted it but it used human weaponry, ballistics. Also in the other Halo series there are no sight of them thus they can''t be that widely used and in the galaxy there are many different types of ship.
