hi all

so i have some question about this fabulous games that BF1942 is

I just changed my configuration this week , changing XP1700+ with K7T266 Pro2 MB and 640 Mo DDR PC2100 and a little SB live!

i have now a XP2200+ with MSI KT4 Ultra SR , 512 DDR PC2700 and the sound card present on the Board (C-Media 5.1 system)

with my 1700+ i have sound bugging so much and with my 2200+ it's sound bugging plus lagging ...

so i have to go Dxdiag and set Sound to NO acceleration (all at left)

and with this it's playable at all but it's boring me caus' when you look a Divx you have to re-set Dxdiag to maximum sound acceleration

i tryied to do the 22khz and 11khz and middle quality to sound in BF resulting a lagging too ...

my computer have a little 90 FPS above (but lot of time is under it) in BF with all videos details and 1024*768*32 set

my computer is

XP2200+ MSI KT4 Ultra SR 512 DDR PC2700 (333Mhz) 2*80Go UDMA 100 Western Digital C-Media 5.1 chipset sound GF4 Ti4200 128Mo AGP 4X

so 90 FPS is good or not with this game ? (i really don't know)

i have tryied the Console.showFPS 1 but it's not all the time on the game ... when you load a different map , this feature isn't actived so i have to re enter it ... is it normal ?

thx peoples to help if it's possible :) and see ya later !

(this is my 1st message here  )

Hi freeman,

Try using a little program called fraps to display your fps.

The C-media sound on-board is reasonable quality, although many players are changing up to the Audigy Gamer.

Now I get between 70 and 90 fps in 800X600 all the time on my system. I have a Athlon XP2100+, 256 Mb PC2100 DDR, Gf4 MX440 Video and Gigabyte VTXH+ Mobo with onboard creative sound. 90 fps and up is what I would expect from your setup. Your drivers maybe slowing you somewhat.

Mine is fairly smooth with no sound problems, however you may find updated drivers for your onboard sound that will improve things for you. Also make sure you have the latest video drivers for your vid card, they are coming out with new ones all the time - get the detonater drivers from the NVIDIA website if you haven't already got them.

Hope this helps
