hi there!

after updating to 1.31 i get a blue screen during multiplayer (playing in LAN only!) sometimes, not with a system behind the crashes (after 3 minutes or after respawning or something) but every now and then the computer crashes with a blue screen.

sometimes it crashes shortly after finishing loading the map, sometimes i could play a few complete rounds before crashing.. very annoying, living in fear and so... :)

system specs: - pentium 4 mobile 2ghz notebook (gericom masterpiece radeon) - ati radeon 9000 mobility - 512 mb ram - windows 2000 + sp3 installed - bf1942 update 1.31 installed - mentionable programs running during gameplay: norton antivirus 2002

don't have internet all the time so i only play in LAN mode...

hmm... any more information to provide? don't know, do you need something more?

any reason to fix that? since it's not quite funny playing only a few minutes..

thanks for that regards from austria (-> explains english mistakes, sorry :))

bye CheQ

Hello,

Because i work a lot with laptops and PC´s besides my own i might have a few idea´s. Altho there are some very good and capable laptops on the market (i mean the ones with a 3rd party VGA solution), to be able to play certain games a 100% DX compatible soundcard is also required. Even the best laptops have only an integrated soundcard based on the AC97 codec, i have had several games simply not working because of sound problems. After a long search for updated(newer) drivers i gave up.

Altho its not a solution it might help u in the good direction
