What's up everyone.. Been playing Bf since the single player demo, but recently I've been wanting to try some MODS... I've tried a few.. Parallel world mostly, but I cant get it to work. I unzipped the file into the mods directory, do I need to do anything else to it? When I try to on a server running the mod, it starts loading then crashes to the desktop when it gets about half way done. Please someone help, I'm going bloody insane, lol. Here's my system specs just incase you need it:
P4 1.8 Ghz 728 MB DDR 3200 RAM Geforce 4 4200TI 8X AGP (128MB) SB Gamer 120GB HD 7200 RPM 8MB cache 60GB 7200 RPM Secondary HD
Thanks for reading, and for helping!
You need to cut or copy the mod into your mods folder.
I dont know sorry twisted, I dont play that mod myself but I have had problems too with mods that dont self install like DC and EoD, but I have gotten them to work after checking the Bf1942 folders to find at first I didnt put them into the correct ones, a good way to check is start the game as if you were going to use the ingame browser and click on custom games, if your mod is listed there it should work unless the server you are trying to join has a different version of the mod than you!
New ppl quite often have this problem. When you extract the mods make sure that the archiving proggy (winzip, powercarchiver etc) is set to to extract using pathnames, so that it creates the folders and sub-folders the mod needs, otherwise it puts all the files in the one Mod folder, and that just don't work.
:cya: :cya: :cya:
Some mods dont work with the 1.4 patch for Battlefield, I could imagine that Parrallel World is amongst them. Some mods that work are EoD, Desert Combat, Experience WWII etc.
Got it! Like apocalypse_kid said, winzip was not creating the Archives folder, and just dumping all the files into once without subs. Thanks for your help everyone!
