A friend of mine kept getting the error "CD Key In Use" and he got a brand new legit CD from CompUSA that he got 3 days before his birthday. He started playing it 3 days ago, and got that error with every servers today.

He tried uninstalling the game then reinstalling it. But no luck. Is there any way for him to do something w/o having to reformat or return the game?

Try download the cd key changer, it will tell u what cd key is active, and u will see if it the w\right cd key. See if this works.

You can get the error if the game crashes while on the server. So if you try and rejoin straight away the server still thinks your on and doesn't let you in.

If its not that, then there is the possibility someone stole your CD key, it has been known for people to go into stores, open the box and write down the CD key.

Had been playing Battlefield for a year with no trouble at all until I decided to try "All Seeing Eye". Decided not to use it, after one try uninstalled it. The next time I tried to play online had the infamous "CD Key in Use error".

"All Seeing Eye" now known as "All Stealing Eye"

Had to uninstall everything and I mean everything including a little trip into the registry to finally sort it out.

Milled.

Thats wierd, I'm pretty sure it wasn't All Seeing Eye man. Hundreads, probably thousands use it fine and as far as I know All Seeing Eye isn't known to steal your CD Keys.

Hmm,

Never had that prob with ASE, and I've been using it since BF came out just about. Maybe just co-incidence.

Have fun

It's common error, one that I've even experienced numerous times.

Clear your Temporary Internet Files. It sounds weird, but it will help you.
