I'm running BF on a p4 2,4ghz with a geforce2gts ( with lastest detonators drivers on ) under win2kpro... I really dunno what to do and I dunno if some ppl has got the same problem has me... Has someone got any idea or fix about this problem ? Thanks :D

Hi Minuss,

Said to say, you may not have a choice. From your brief description it sounds like a hardware problem with your video card. Without being there to test it I can't say for certain.

Things to try:

1) Re-install windows and BF. 2) Beg, borrow, steal another vid card and test. 3) There's also a chance it may be faulty memory, so test that also. 4) Check to see your vidcard isn't overheating due to faulty vid card fan etc.

Good luck

Hi Minuss,

Two ways to check memory. Either try getting hold of a freeware memory tester, there are a few around, or simply change it for another stick (beg, borrow, steal etc). Maybe this will help http://www.freshdevices.com/freshdiag.html If you have two stick try running each one in your comp individually.

Good luck

Try removing the card & clean the AGP slot out with some "air in a can". I had a similar problem a while back. Everything worked fine until I would try to play any game or run some kinda app that wanted to use the card. I would get that same nice colorful screen. :D

At the time I was told to use a pencil eraser to clean the contacts on the card itslef, but have since been told by many that it's probably not asuch a great idea to do that. :uhoh:

Not saying this will solve your problem, but it sure can't hurt.

Chris

P.S. Also it coould be a driver conflict if you didn't completely remove the old video drivers before installing the newer ones. Try using "Detonator Destroyer" to completely remove the old version first.

Cleaned it but it still not working... All other things like war3, cs, 3dsmax ect are working, its just a problem with bf1942... My video card's ventilator is down, I'll change it asap, do you think it can come from here ?
