Hey, all!
Well, up until 1.3 all was fine. After that, I started getting randomly kicked off servers after about 10 minutes of gameplay. That sucked. This sucks harder.
NOW when I try to connect, the splash screen comes up, map loads, and then a box pops up with the words Corrupt Data in RED and the game crashes to desktop.
Now, I've uninstalled everything (including mods and maps) and reinstalled the game, then the patches, then Road to Rome, and STILL I recieve the same message.
System Notes: Athlon XP 1900 512 Megs Ram 80 Gig HD Asus Mobo GeForce 4
I've defragged, virus checked, shut off firewalls and all background programs, and still no joy.
Any help???
that happend to me with desert combat i just uninstall every thing maps mods and the game with rtr than rebooded than put every thing back and it worked for me use a regestry cleaner to
When you uninstalled everything, did you go into program files/EA Games and delete the bf1942 folder afterwards? The game has been running flawless for me with the exception that every coupla weeks my cd key becomes invalid and I have to do a clean install. Then its good again. Its done this since I bought the game though so 1.31 is not to blame for it.
Delete any remaining folders, clean you registry, install again, it should work. See how it runs without RTR or any mods installed and add and test till you find whats causing the problem.
I've been getting that same 'Data Corupt' error as well, and I don't have any Expansion packs installed at all, just that base game with the 1.31 patch. Frankly I'm astounded that a game this buggy was even released nevermind winner of game of the year! I've got graphic glitches, sound problems, and this damn corupt error now too.. Not impressed EA, not impressed. All I can say is that the next patch better fix my sound and graphic errors, because there's no way i should be getting errors on an AMD 2400+, with a Radeon 9000 vid card, and a SB Live 5.1 sound card, I mean c'mon, not like it's some of the most freakin exotic hardware around!
.... and install 1.31 Patch LAST, after Road To Rome installation.
Well, I fixed it! I simply used a free Registry cleaner I snagged offline and now it's all good!
Another thread on this a while back ... can't remember who but someone beleived it had to do with the mods. Said that if you had a mod the server didn't support but you were trying to use it you may get this error and vice versa say the server supports a mod you don't have you may get the error too. I'm not too sure on that all I know is nothing seems to work consistantly with this problem and it is not a consistant problem for me to begin with. The mod explaination does explain it for me though, I may get the error when trying to load say Wake Island on one server and it dumps me to desktop with that error. Then I can just re run the game and choose another server that is running Wake Island and it'll work just fine. Go figure.
