Hi, I can normally sort out problems ok but this one has me stuck. When i start a game in vanilla BF(multiplayer) it starts fine, loads fine and then whilst playing a game it is ok. But whilst playing DC i sometimes click on a server and the screen will immediately go back to desktop ,the task manager says its ok but its nonresponsive to anything i do and eventually i have to end task. The problem doesnt end there,50% of the time i can connect to the server ok and after a round when the map changes it will do it again. Its really starting to wind me up now plz help. I have tried new and old drivers for my graphics card, mobo, souncard, uninstalled the game and deleted all folders etc, reinstalled thew game and still the same. Its only just started doing it after making no changes to my system so i dont get it.

Heres my specs. P4 2.4 533 FSB 5.1 Soundblaster Live 5200 Fx Ultra 128mb 512 MB DDR PC 2700 WIN XP PRO

I dont remember the exact name of the options, but i do know if you are running a game while choosing a server, or you happen to double click (load) the server it may crash due to certain problems: - PB is running, and doesnt like you (lol the server) - An option is checked letting the game check your files before loading (it can destabalize or crash mods) - your game graphics or settings are rigged in a way hard to handle, and crash after playing (many mods err graphics, and run harder) - The server is not responsive, and the game locks up trying to refresh it (rare) If none of these seem to work, try finding the update, or reinstalling. also, if you are playing any changed version, or old (not 1.6) v of the game, it does conflict with new versions, so you will have problems. Also, when you end task, make sure nothing is running in the background (spyware, virus scanning) that will check incoming/outgoing i-net travel. this will hurt your game. Tel me if it doesnt work!

Thankyou for the advice, sorry i didnt answer sooner but i havent been able to log onto Gaming Forums for about a week. You were spot on, i had installed all the incremental patches and i think that is where the problem lay. So i took your advice and reinstalled everything but this time i used full 1.6 client patch and it initially seemed the same but after dumbing down my graphics card settings a little itseems to be ok. I must say though it still comfuses me the way it was fine one day and knackered the next?
