I installed Desert Combat a few hours ago and its pretty cool. But I seem to be having a problem with the graphics of the terrain. For instance.. in the map (DC Desert Shield).. If I start on the Iraq side and head in the American direction.... as soon as I go down the first hill the terrain gets all sorts of flashes of light and only my vehicles wheels are visible.. it will flicker in and out. It will stop if I turn toward the Iraq side and return if I face the american side. My graphics card is a Nvidia Geforce 4 4200.. I went and updated my drivers just in case that was the problem but it still messes up. I have also played with the graphics setting by turning everything off and turning things on one by one but its still the same. Game play is not affeced accept for not being able to see and getting destroyed. I haven't tested the other maps... (I need to step out a min) but I will later or tommrow Thanks

This is so off-topic I am simply going to delete it and suggest you look around at the "Making BF Movies" tutorial on the main BF1942files.com site. Also try turning the HUD off. In the future kindly try to keep at least somewhat close to the topic in the help forum thanks. AK

Hi r1013,

It could also be a DirectX problem. If you don't have the latest DirectX files already try updating, if you do download a DX Killer App to remove DX and then re-install.

Good luck

I would have psted back my system specs last night but my DSL went down?? Anyways.. here it is: Athlon 2000, 1 GB ram, Win XP Pro, Nividia G4 Ti4200 with 53.03 drivers, DX 9.0b. As mentioned in my first post I tried various graphic settings.. ie.. turning the graphics all the way down and then adding a few things little by little until it was cranked back up once more. I tried various resolutions from the smallest @ 16bit to the highest @ 32bit and it still flashes.. Since my net connection was down I played through at least a few mins of most of the maps last night... I noticed that the flash is only on the desert maps... soo if I can't resolve this.. then at least I can play the others.. but the more the better.. this is really a nice mod.. I also tried empires a few days ago.. crashes if I try a local or net game but is perfect when Im alone.. but.. let me test out some things.. its gonna be coll in the end.. But then so was BZII which its modeled after.. very sweet game.. but just thought i'd throw that in if you wanted to keep your eye on it and liked BZII a few years ago Thanks
