Hey,

I love battlefield 1942, its a great game, however, I cannot figure out why the demo which was run on high settings with 32+ ppl ran smooth and the full version of the game(its legal, have cd lol)it is choppy when running on medium settings and 32+ppl. Now yes, lag can be an issue, but it never was on the demo. I updated my ATI Radeon 8500 128mb DDR video drivers, and I updated my sound blaster live 5.1 platinum card. Everything ran fine, sound problems werent an issue anymore. However, Im still getting crappy framerates in single player of all things!! It was so smooth in the demo on high settings. Why is it not smooth on medium in full version of game?

1.2ghz Celeron ATI Radeon 8500 128mb DDR 512SDRAm 60g HD Sound Blaster Live 5.1 platinum card

I hope this is something simple, I ran the demo on high sound settings, high video settings it ran perfectly with tons of ppl on. Why is it that the full version isnt working as well..?

That does not make sense. Ladies and gentlemen of the Jury, this is Chewbacca. He lives on the planet Endor. But Chewbacca is a wookie. That ... does not ...make ..sense.

Anyway, besides the coffe induced senseless ramblings I have, I'm ok. Have you installed the BF patch? koz if the servers have and you haven't, that might be the cause of the crappiness.

You can try to play the demo and afterwards play the same map with the full version on the same server and see if you notice any differences...

I will continue the quest for the correct answer if this one fails to give any aid to your current unfortunate position.
