Hi TT1,

Just a quick suggestion. It sounds like a custom config problem. When you did the re-installs did you delete the "program files/ea games/battlefield 1942" folder before installing? If it is a problem with one of the config files you may just be putting everything back the way it was.

Good luck

Hi,

thanks for the reply.

Yes I deleted that file.

Still no luck . . . still crashing out to desktop.

Any further suggestions would be very nice.

Before you reinstall, clean your registry as well. Its been a big issue for alot of people when reinstalling this game. Also, if your using a no cd hack, get rid of it. They dont work very well with bf1942.

Hi,

thanks for the reply.

I used RegCleaner before I re-installed.

I'm not using a no-cd hack.

Perhaps my copy is dodgy?

Since I changed a sound option to hardware acceleration, my bf1942 now crashes just after loading!!

I now can't even get a chance to try to join a game before I crash out to desktop!!

Any ideas?

Thanks
