So have you tried it with any games? Any crashing or abnormal behavior?

dx9 miniumly effects your load time dx9 = more stable more efficient way of gaming

ram = faster load time os = how it runs cpu = smoothness gfx card = gfx smoothness and transfering data to monitor to cpu to gfx card

so it all depends on what system you have

i only recommend this if you have xp cause of system restore option

Also only ATI Radeon 9700 and 9500 have support for DX9 - the Nvidia FX card will have it, so it won't affect your game performance by much, and in theory because your current vid card only uses DX8 (unless you have the above) which has been in use for some time, it shouldn't cause any problems.

It will be interetsing to hear from owners of the ATI Radeons as to how affects their cards and performance. Anybody here using Radeons with DX9?

have fun

I just got DRX9 and its Running better and faster than 8. I am running Win XP with a Radeon 9700 Pro. I think everyone should upgrade to this is they can!

I have the ATI Radeon 9000 pro and i downloaded Dx9 and it didnt make much of a difference. My load times and everything are still the same and my in game graphics and performance are only slightly improved. you can barly tell the difference.

Hi Chaos and |AFF| PFC.Miller,

As I mentioned only the Radeon 9700 and 9500 have support for DX9, I wouldn't expect any difference for a Radeon 9000. However it seems to be a must have for owners of the top Radeon cards. Nice to hear from you guys.

That's probably because BF1942 doesn't really incorporate any DX9 features. Try playing the Splinter Cell demo.
