Anyone else ever played this game? It is quite addictive http://www.bbc.co.uk/dna/h2g2/alabaster/A609789 And a (Mostly) good description of the rules... http://www.waste.org/~oxymoron/cards/ratscrew.html I've never played with the rules he lists after "For added confusion". That includes his 666 rule (which the author admits was made up) and the listed penalty for incorrect slapping. As we play, incorrect slapping results in the players donating cards to the bottom of the card pile. I can't remember how many for sure; four comes to mind but I like the idea on the notes page that suggests 1 card for each active player.

Oh, I used to play this all the time in college. Hosted games and driven hours to get to games... You'd end up with bruises up and down your arm from trying to slap in in time to get the stack and hitting the table edge with your forearm... a good 3 inch round bruise was quite a badge.... I just wanted to know if anyone else here had ever played. Any time I mention something odd like this Dragon has usually heard of it and Preacher usually just thinks I'm nuts....

My friends (?) like it when I play poker but not when I play Black Jack. That's my game... At least I'm not as bad off as this guy.... ‘Batman’ held for scaling Buckingham Palace wall ‘Batman’ held for scaling Buckingham Palace wall

@ Rebel - Thank you my friend, I knew it wasn't just me.

Good guess Dragon - yep, I know this game. Though I don't remember large bruises on my arms, either I was smart enough to pick my arms up off the table, or I sat in a high enough chair. I think I was smarter than Queeg, yeah, that's it. :D What I do remember were the backs of my hands getting raw. I mean, there are two objectives when going for the pile - one, to get there first, and two, to make the person who got there ahead of you know that there are consequences to getting there first! Of course, both objectives lend to total abandonment of gentleness. Tall card piles also tended to fly around the room with this approach. *doubles appear on pile* Wham! WHAM! "Ouch ouch ouch! Hey, you knocked my cards everywhere!" "You won the cards, YOU pick them up!" Not my favorite game. Non gambling wise, Hearts have always been my favorite. Nice combination of luck, strategy, and being able to hose your "friends" with bad cards. Gambling, I guess I'd have to go for poker too. Though I've never played for more than pennies... LOL Oh, and Queeg isn't that good at Blackjack, don't let him scare you! ;)
