When I start battlefield, there is no sound during the intro, and at the main screen it freezes. I cant move my mouse or anything, all i can do is ctrl+alt out of the game. I am running 1.5, if i just run it without any patches at all it works fine, but i wont be able to join any multiplayer games. Does anyone know how to fix this problem? Thanks, Murdoc

Theres Either two problems when you setup the game, not all the files copyed properly or your computer doesnt have the minimum specifications you need. I had that trouble at the Lan once.

So either resetup or update your computer.

Hi mate,

There is a good possibility that you have a corrupt user profile, this is not uncommen when patching your game. Go into the "C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\Battlefield 1942\Mods\bf1942\Settings\Profiles\Custom" (naturally change the path if you have installed to a custom folder) and delete everything in there, then shut down and restart the game, create new user profiles and everything should work again. Also make sure that your that your VideoDefault.con file (in the settings folder) has this line "renderer.allowAllRefreshRates 1" (without the quotes) if it has a 0 instead of a 1 change it to 1.

Good luck

Thank You Apocolypse Kid, it ended up being a corrupt user profile and what you said worked. Thanks again

Hi Private Private,

yes it does come back, the reason being that it is this file that BF uses to store the first user profile, even if you don't change anything it just copies the details. What I would suggest trying now is to delete both the Custom Profile folder AND the Default Profile folder - the problem could bein t he default profile - BF should recreate it for you.

Good lcuk
