I recently got a new video card (GeForce FX5600 356MB DDR 8X AGP) and whenever I play Battlefield 1942 the maps look messed up. Take for example I fly a plane, I can't see the landscape it seems to be "breaking up" and sometimes I see imperfections in the landscape like it's been all cut up. It kinda looks like when you go spectator in most games for example, if you pass the boundaries of the map everything starts to break apart. I've put all the settings on high and low and I still get the same problem. What's wrong?
I would die without GF

I just got a GF5600 also, only a 128Mb model. Have you re-installed the drivers since putting in the card. I left the old drivers in first for mine (I had a GF4 MX440 and it seemed to pick up the 5600 fine, but I had some problems until I re-installed the drivers - same version but I guess it updates some stuff from the old to the new vidcard). Mine is running fine now.
:cya: :cya: :cya:
Yeah, I installed the necessary drivers before installing BF1942.
I don't spend enough time here

what card did you have before and did you uninstall those drivers? Sounds like either the card is too hot or more likely that it is driver conflict.
I had a GeForce 4 64MB

I don't want to try any 3rd party programs.
I've tried playing around with the settings of both BF1942 and the vid card settings and the graphics are still screwed up. I have the updated Nvidia drivers for Windows XP. I don't understand why the graphics are like that. None of my other games have the graphics screwed up like this.
It's a GeForce FX 5600 256MB.
