I'm not sure, but I don't think the game supports the TNT2, Doesn't support T&L or somethin...

Get a new graphics card, Geforce 4MX or Geforce 4 Ti4200 is best bang for buck.

Hi chip74,

You are quite correct, your vid card will not work properly with the game. The supported graphic chipsets (up to the date of release of course) are listed on the outside of the BF1942 box. While there are a number of low end chipsets that support bf1942 (GeForce 256, radeon 7500) in practice anything less than a GF4 MX440 or a Radeon 8500 are a bit slow for a good gaming experience.

Have fun

Hi Iniog,

I believe I made a lengthy reply on this problem to one of ledzep's posts. All 3D vid cards support Transform and Lighting, they are one of the key processes that make up 3D worlds. However the word you are missing out here is "Hardware". Prior to the GeForce 256 Transform and Lighting was only supported in software (ie" The CPU did all the work), then Nvidia created a GPU with Transform and Lighting built into the chip, making it about 100 times faster than software Transform and Lighting, so it could now display dynamic lighting, multiple light sources, moving shadows etc. Software has to be specially written to use the Hardware T&L Engine on many modern vid cards.

That's why games like Q3 ran extremely well on a GeForce 256, but also ran (not as well) on a TNT2, cause it had support for hardware and software T&L.

It seems that DICE had support in the multiplayer demo for software T&L, cause many ppl had cards (TNT2, Rage Fury 128 etc) that worked in the demo but that now do not work in the full game. They must have decided that the majority of players had Hardware T&L and they could save coding time and space by just dropping the support for software T&L altogether.

I think that covers it
