Pretty cool, I'd say...
http://www.r50rd.co.uk/research/internal/v2i/engin/ Say good buy to the gendarme directing traffic!
OMG! Is that an elaborate hoax? The video of it stopping the truck is awesome!
Hehehe Pretty incredible isn't it! People have said hoax but if it is, it is pretty elaborate! It is on the same scale as The Cloke of Invisiblity which sure looks real as there are plenty of other non-related optics research papers available on the same site...but could this even be possible??? I lean towards hoax on both of them... This one is truely awesome...(better than the robot) http://projects.star.t.u-tokyo.ac.jp:/projects/MEDIA/xv/oc.html
I think that retroreflective material might be possible. It doesn't really make you invisible. In that mpeg of the guy on the street, look at how the images don't line up, like the source of that image is from a slightly different perspective (ie behind him). Also, in the first few frames you can see something black on the ground behind him, maybe a tripod? It works in the office because nothing is moving, so they project the image without the person, onto that object. It's like a fancy...bluescreen? Like the weather report. The x-ray is a joke, but using the same principal. Notice how that one doesn't move.
sure that robot started off harmless just like this one:
but we all know what ended up happening:
sorry that robot just made me remember ED 209 from robocop, wont happen again.
lol That is a wicked looking robot.
I think it is a seriously huge hoax. Wow - that took a lot of effort! To quote the following link:
As much as many would like to believe this is all true, the general consensus is that it is an elaborate hoax – a gigantic lie – an advertisement. And we have all perpetuated the marketing scheme by contributing to the buzz. Brilliant.
http://www.2walls.com/antipop_culture/men_of_metal.asp To see a real robot do incredible things, go here: http://world.honda.com/ASIMO/ The movie section is just amazing - watching it go up and down stairs made my jaw drop! Now, if we can only get a compact and powerful enough power supply into a chassis set up so that someone can stand in it - bingo! The cargo loader in Aliens that Ripley drove. How cool would that be? I'd pay big money to ride in that!
actually asimo's beond the riply cargo loader. He'd do all that work without you inside it. (been following his progress over the years, it's amazing what we've managed in robotics, we even have robots that play soccer now, with a yearly champianship.
very cool what a monster , great little hide out here thnx QUEEG  Deadeye
