Hey everyone,

I've done some searches on this board trying to find my problem, but they have come up empty, so i will just ask.

Why why oh WHY? Can't i get 1280x1024 for BF1942???

It makes me very sad! Is there a fix!?!?!?

Thanks alot!

I know it sucks. Thats the one good resolution thats missing. I would want to play it in that one too but have to play in 1600x1200 instead. If you cant play in that res. then your stuck with 1024x768. I havent seen a fix for it at all. On my monitor, 1024x768 doesnt even take up the whole 19-in screen. 1600x1200 is a good resolution though if you have a fast enough setup (ram, cpu, vid card)

Yeah, i wanted to use it at 1280x1024 and force the refresh rate to 85hz. I can run it at 1600x1200, but at a lower refresh rate :(

Does anyone know if there is a reason 1280x1204 wasnt included!?!?!

Hi all,

I went through all this once before with another user but I guess the post is so old it's fell off the bottom of the bulletin board. battlefield 1942 only supports resolutions with an aspect ratio of 4/3 - since 1280/1024 has an aspect ration of 5/4 it therefore will not work and I don't believe there are any plans to change it. If you run with an aspect ratio of 5/4 the picture and all objects will either be stretched or more of the scene will need to be rendered to fill the missing gaps.

this may be a limitation of the 3D engine being used by DICE, whatever the only ppl who can really answer with a definitive response is DICE, try emailing them.

Thats a logical explanation. Good reply. Its unfortunate that 1280x1024 is my normal desktop resolution. Thats OK I still get 100fps in 1600x1200 anyways so it doesnt matter to me any. :frog:
