I DL'ed HB, and wake evenings, But they don't work. Can someone show a path as to where eack file goes ?.. Now that there is a mod file in the directory.. I made a file for HB and put it in the mod section with the mod files all there ..named it heavy bomb.. Well It shows up in the custom game screen and I hit activate. but it comes back gray and the little box with the bf1942 and the hb mod in there ..It wont work in single , or coop or if I make my own server .. So, can someone show the paths for each file starting with the mod file then going thru bf file and archives, and so on ..

Thanks BlackFeather

You have to extract the HB mod into the folder "Mods" which you apparently already found in your Battlefield directory. Be sure that you extract the files using path names.

The HB mod will automatically be placed in the appropriate directory which will be created automatically.

Then you should be able to activate the Mod in the Battlefield Menu at "Multiplayer" and then "Custom Game". I'm not sure if it's called "Custom Game" or "Mods" but I'm sure you'll find it.

If you have further questions, feel free to ask.

PS: As for the Wake Evenings: I don't know if it's compatible with version 1.2 of Battlefield.

I did that the other day, and put the files where they go. But one file that I put in wanted to over write a file in the archives .. I didn't do that thinking that once an origanal file is over written. then you'll have problems and have to reinstall the game ..True or not ?

Again Thanks ..

If you have the version which is for 1.2 of Battlefield which is actually HB 1.1 you'll extract the files into one folder especially for HB. Therefor you don't have a chance of overwriting an original file of the main game.

If you always want to be on the safe side you could copy your whole Battlefield folder to another location on your hard disk. This way you can always overwrite the damaged version of BF with the "Backup" if something went wrong. But be sure to keep the Update up-to-date when you modify anything in your folder like textures for example. But don't forget to test before before making a backup.

i have a quick question too...i installed 2 mods. i started bf1942 and went to multiplayer and custom. clicked on a mod i wanted to test. clicked start. the screen when black for a few seconds and went back to the custom mod part. now...is it suppost to automatically start up the mod, or do i have to make a game and select the map that the mod corresponds to?

thanks, mike :)

the mod should be activated just by clicking start.
