Whenever I try to install the game (European version) on my PC it gets to 53% and then stops. It then gives me a message : "Specified component can not be found in the media. An attempt was made to access a component that does not exist in the named media."

Does anybody what that means?

I have a PC with the following specs.:

Windows XP home edition version 2002 Intel pentium 4 CPU 2.01 Ghz 512 MB RAM ATI Radeon 7500

Thank you for your time :)

Hi TaoLishao and italmike2k2,

I haven't seen this particular question before so I must have missed it first time, sorry italmike2k2. I know it installs fine under windows XP so I can only assume that there is some problem with either your CD (try cleaning it maybe?) or the drive that you are reading from. Now I do know for a fact that some drives simply can't handle the safedisc copy protection that is being used on these CD's, so this may be the problem. There are a number of ways around this. One is to borrow a different brand CD drive and test it with that (you could also try installing it on a friends PC just to make sure the CD is OK).

Another method of install is to just copy the entire contents of the CD to a directory on your Hard Drive and install it from that directory - it should install then - however if your CD drive is having trouble reading the disk it may also have trouble verifying the disk once it is installed. ppl have used the no CD patch to get around this problem but I can't help you with getting hold of that sorry.

Hope this helps

Thank you. I will try your solution. I will tell you of the results. :D

I have tried to copy the entire disc to my computer. Aboute halfway it says " Cannot copy data2. Illegal MS-DOS action"

Does anyone know anything about this?

This sounds like a problem with the CDROM drive possibly. test the disk on another computer and if it works I would say you may be up for a new CD drive.
