I have just installed patch 1.31 and have a new GE4 64mb Nvidia graphics card and a Audigy sound card. i have the sound down to 11 khz and low quality and hardware acceleration enabled. I have graphics at the lowest level.

Things work fine but every 5 seconds or so, like when im turning, the screen jerks so I assume this is lag. What can I do to get rid of lag?

Thanks all in advance, Dave aka Gib

I assume hardware acceleration causes some people to experience what seems to be jerky gameplay. Try disabling it and see what happens. :cya:

I had no problems in 1.3 patch but the more I played 1.31, the more I noticed an increase of lag especialy during infantry play (walking). Most of the time I don't have a problem in vehicles but occasionally will get weird glitching (game doesn't jerk, but kind of pulls me around), I have been hearing other people say they get lag after 5 or so minutes of gameplay and that is what I'm experiencing.

Perhaps 1.31 introduced some new issues, and this might be one of them. It is getting annoying because just last week I got my new system up and going and the game played with no problems and now only to be annoyed by the lag pulling me around when I try to move.

There was a readme with the 1.31 that recommended settings for sound cards that were different depending on your sound card. For instance for the Audigy it recommended turning hardware acceleration on, but for the 5.1 live turning acceleration off. My main problem for jerkiness is on servers with large numbers of players, anything above about 40-45 I have probs with jerking, but 32 player games are fine.

Still a few issues need sorting here I supect.

I found out something, it's not lag im experiencing since I went and tried a single player game.

I can have everything maxed with my comptuer and it looks great and except for every 5 to 20 seconds the game locks, and then the screen jerks/ stutters

I have-

Windowss XP Audigy Sound Card GEForce4 420 MX Graphics Card 512 megs ram

Im running the 1.31v

I can crank everything up to max graphics and sound and it works fine except for the stuttering/ jerky play.

I've messed with BF for 2 weeks now, no avail from all the posts I've read.

Can anyone think of anything to check? I really would like to be able to play, Im so damned frustrated I could puke.

Thanks all, Gib
