lesson u sack of shit, its a techie thing that has nothing to do with the joystick now. it is something in the AMIBIOS, and USB Support. go shut the hell up
Calm down a bit please, there are always ppl who are going to go off the point, if you respond like that every time an admin will end up banning you.
Now, back to the problem. First what OS are you using. Normally if you enable USB support AFTER having installed the OS when you enable it and restart it should come up with "new device detected" and install the usb host drivers etc.
The problem is you are getting a windows protection error during startup which can becaused by a number of things, it's quite often a device conflict on older OS's (Win95/98/me) so I would suggest removing any PCI cards installed - disable onboard sound or anything like that then restart. If it works let it detect the USB ports then replace your other devices one by one and see if it crashes again, it it does that's the problem.
Another thing to do is to check and see if there are any updated BIOS's or Mobo Drivers for your Mobo. Also in the bios make sure that you BIOS is set to Plug-n-Play OS and not disabled, that can sometimes cause problems, if it's set to PnP it can quite often sort out device conflicts itself, whereas having it disabled can lead to problems.

i have found out why it dont work. when i installed windows98, in AMIBIOS i had USB Support Function disabled. thats very bad. so it didnt install USB support. and u cant enable it after windows was instaled. so ima have to format my hd's, make sure i set the USB support enabled and whatever else, then install windows98 again. it really sucks
my uncle is comin over monday to do all this shit.
Damn that's annoying, but I suppose it's understandable with an old OS like Win98 where they only just put in USB support, it's still a bit buggy. I have succesfully enabled USB support after the fact on later OS's. (how about just upgrading your OS to WinXP, that should work  )
Have fun mate

lol i would. but i dont wanna format again just for that! win98 is fine. just gotta know the facts and bugs of it.
well you said that you was gonna reformat anyways so why not upgrade to xp i have had no problems with it i had it since it came out. i had a few problems but it was hardware related bad sticks of ram but other then that its stable unless you have bad drivers for it thats like the only way for it to crash that i have found so far but umm i dont know what to tell ya i just bought the same stick i really dont like it i am thinking of returning it plus the game that came with does not even load up i think that it might be for a mac the game that is.
